HI thanks for the reply
They each check out @ 10 Ohm and have continuity
I also removed them and put 3w across them @ 5v to see if they broke down under loadLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Measure the 3 ceramic resistors on the power supply again. First in residence mode, and then in continuity mode. They are fuseable resistors and may read good one way, but not the other.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Just to add I seam to be getting 5v on the STBY 4v on the RL ON and about 3v on the AC DET but its hard to tell as it only jumps up briefly as its clickingLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Do you think it will be possible to probe the AC_DET pin? You may need a piece of wire. Attach the wire to the red probe on your multimeter, and stick the wire on the AC_DET pin. Place the black probe in an exposed screw hole (e.g., for the wall mount.) Set your meter to the 20V DC range and move the probe to the volts/ohms jack. Then plug the TV in. You should measure either 3V or 5V. If it drops to zero during the clicking, you have a very common problem with LG plasmas which is easily fixed.
In addition, use the ohms range to measure the fuses on the board. Do this with power off and leave the TV for about a minute to discharge the caps. Measure the resistance from one end to another on the 200 ohm range. You should measure close to zero ohms. Don't confuse the open circuit "1" on right hand side with "1.0" ohms. I expect these will be okay as the screen is flickering but it doesn't hurt to be thorough.
Post a picture of your multimeter if anything is confusing so we can indicate which modes to set the meter to.
Hi i'm having the same problem LG 50PK350_ZB with the clicking and not turning on just the red standby light showing, the TV was ok till one day it just went off and wouldn't come back on.
I know this is an old thread but didn't think there was any point starting another on the same problem
Hope someone can give me a few pointers
I have checked the 3 large 10 Ohm resistors, Diode @ D304 3 fuses and replaced the voltage regulator and also tried another main board (the one with the scart/hdmi inputs) but this made no difference.
There was a site on ebay selling 11 SMD resistors the replaced ones on the back of the board but they all have a reading when tested (don't know if its correct) and also if they need to be removed and checked? I was hoping one would be open.
There was mention of bypassing something to get it working with a resistor added somewhere?
Could some one please give some detailed instructions on how to do this and what its for.
Its an old TV and if there was a cheap fix i'd try it but its not worth spending a lot of money on.

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
I have this model tv and it doesnt power on, just clicks then red light comes on and i push it again, it clicks then the red light fades.
i have this particular tv with the psu board number
EAX61392501/8
i checked the big white resistors and all 3 have the 10ohm resistance. the diode located by the resistor and voltage regulator is giving me straight continuity both ways.
am i to assume that because this diode is bad , that the voltage regulator is bad as well?

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
I had the same problem with my LG 50PK350 and with it being over 3 yrs since I bought it thought I might as well buy a new tv but then after reading the posts on this forum I realised this was quite a common fault. I contacted LG customer services and they have picked my tv up and repaired it free of charge as it's a common fault.
So don't try anything else but phone LG customer services on

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
I seriously love this forum
I had a 50PK350N brought in, that would apparently turn on, but no picture. Sure enough, that exact 22R/5W ceramic resistor was wide open (electrically, not physically).
Not wanting to wait for a week for a spare (and uprated) one, i decided to "get creative" - i had a few 10R/10W resistors. Slapped a couple layers of Kapton tape over the "butt end" of that connector up in the corner, and squeezed those two big boys as you can see in the attached pic.
Owner forgot the remote, but we'll find out soon enough if this alone did the trickLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Hi, I am brand new here but came upon this site and this thread while searching for help with a 50PV450 I have. I will be very grateful for any help that can be given.
The issue I have is as follows:
I have an LG 50PV450. I recently acquired three boards for this TV. I picked up a new power supply board, and new YSUS board and a new main board (there were damaged HDMI ports in this TV, hence the new main board).
I've installed all the boards, as I'm fairly skilled with a screw driver, but now all I see are "sparkles" for a moment and then the TV goes black.
I happened upon this site through this thread.
It seemed to discuss a similar issue, though on a different TV. I was wondering how I would go about resolving the sparkle issue for this set.
I do not mean to highjack a thread, so if this would be better served in a new thread, please let me know and I will do so.
Thank you in advanced. I look forward to any response.

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Hi guys, first post on an old thread. My model is LG 50PV450. No visual BAD CAP :-) No visual damage. The problem started slowly, would close down after X time, then opened and close after 15-10 min, after would open and close right away. TV as been off and unplug for all summer. LG offer a 250$ fix price repair??? Also, the breaker (120V 15AMP) started to pup a few time before this problem happen (current cot) and I wonder if this had effect on my problem. I' ok with a voltmeter and very good with a soldering iron as I'm in the Hobby business (well was), still doing some model airplane.
Anyway, thanks for any comments.

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
Hi I have a LG50PC5D
The 4A Secondary side fuse was blowing, replaced 2 shorted MOSFET,s
Replaced some of the cap's, don't think any were gone, but changed them anyway
Now when plugging in the Red Light on the front comes on, PSU Clicks once and then shuts off.
If the YSUS board is disconnected it continually cycles, clicking
AC DETECT in cycles between 5V and 0V
STBY pin is steady 5V
I read a post from TOM66 about disabling the AC DETECT, the indication was that this was done by bypassing the optocouplers.
Can anyone please provide more information on how to do this
ThankYou

Re: LG 50" PK540 Plasma Clicking, not turning on.
It's been a while I fixed any electronic device so i'm a newbie myself too =)
And I have to confess I didn't fix my TV by myself. It was still under warranty and a repair man came to replace whole power supply and he told me that they have been changing a lot of those Power Resistors to these boards.
Sorry for missinfo =)
And there was no humming sound in my TV.Leave a comment:

by KYBOSHGot my hands on an relatively unknown TV brand about two weeks ago.
I certainly hadn't heard of it before.
Previous owner didn't give a description of what was wrong and when I got it the back cover was already off.
I put it on the back burner until I had so spare time to look it over.
Today was that day.
I plugged it in and was surprised to see that it started up without any issues.
This is an older TV and the most modern video input that it has is DVI.
I was scrambling to find a DVI connector or adapter as I haven't fooled with that... -
by sam_sam_samThis is from my son’s gaming computer that at first had minor overheating issues when playing a very intense game with it causing the computer to crash or reboot
Then bough a new motherboard and a new computer case that a cooling system in it already installed also brought the cooling system for this video card but now the issue with it is that it randomly rebooted screen goes blank randomly and suddenly video freezing or started with video being there then blank screen and then the video comes back or it just stays blank for a while and then maybe it will come back but it... -

Removing JUST the main CPU/Input PCB from circuit stops the clicking. No problems with any other boards/drivers. (Removing all other boards and only putting Main back in is all it takes to start clicking again)

by LGhostHello everyone! This is my first thread asking for help and I'm new here so please be nice
I'm trying to repair a Samsung TV but not having much success so I've came across this forum and it seemed kinda nice and friendly. The TV is clicking on/off (relay) and I can't seem to put my finger on the issue. The image looks fine (since I can get a glance at the "Smart TV" logo when it boots). But it's just an endless loop of on/off. If I disconnect the mainboard from the PSU it stops doing the "clicking" sound but that's about it. I've already got a used mainboard... - Loading...
