    scetre 32 LCD - works for 5 minutes then loss of picture

    Man, these LCD and Plasma TVs are just plain problematic.

    My sister 32 inch LCD sceptre has a bad solder joint I think.

    It comes on with from red light to blue light. Everything works for about 5 minutes and then the screen goes dark. blue light stays on.

    I unplugged the TV for about 10 minutes and it comes back on the the picture goes away again.

    Changed out the inverter board but that does not appear to fix the problem. how do I determine if the T-con is working properly or not?

    By replacing it with a known good board.

    With all due respect*, you are wasting a lot of money with your troubleshooting approach. Does the sound work after the screen goes dark? The tcon should not affect the sound. Do the backlights go out (there is usually some light leakage even if the screen is black).

    ABOVE ALL, are the output voltages out of the power supply correct after the screen goes dark?

    * Not much.
