      1) I can't tell the color code, but please list it.

      2) If you suspect the resistors are bad, desolder them and re-measure them out of circuit to verify. In circuit readings can be deceptive with other surrounding components and if the resistors are in parallel or series.

      3) Do you have a manual or auto ranging multimeter?

        brown
        black
        yellow
        gold
        = 100k ?

will remove all 4 and test now

Wow, if the correct value is 100K Ohms and you are getting 99 Ohms for each reading, that is way off.

I'm not suggesting you are making a mistake, but we have a lot of new multimeter users in the last 72 hours, what is the scale setting when you are taking these readings? 200? 2000? 20k, 200k?

                  Those readings are fine.

They probably just discharge the high voltage capacitor so it's safe to work on.

Have you checked you are getting the right PSU voltages?

                        Thanks

It's essentially a Samsung TV but with the Emerson name on it. Never seen that before. And that must be the smallest main board I've seen yet. Suppose that's why they are budget TVs.

You should also measure ~200V on the Vs connector. Do you get this?

That is the rule rather than the exception. Samsung builds the plasma panel, which includes the buffers, sustains, and main control board. The TV manufacturer adds the video / input board, speakers, control panel, and the plastic case.

This one is wholly Samsung, though - power supply and main board. Look at the LeadFree logo that you only see on Samsung boards. The remote control also looks the same as one from a Samsung plasma I fixed.

k means you are on the kilo scale (x1000). So 99.1 x 1000 = 99,100 so your resistor is good.

                                    A 99 Ohm resistor on the 200k scale would show 0.099. That is, 0.099 x 1000 = 99 Ohm.

                                          Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
                                          The schematic...
