    Vizio 32" no power SV320XVT

I purchased a dead Vizio that didnt have any power in it (no orange stand-by) hoping to find something obviously wrong with it, bulging caps, blown fuse, etc...

Well I took it apart inspected every board, and they all seem to be fine, no bad caps, no NOTICEABLE bad fuses.

maybe a bad Power Supply, I would like to test out the boards myself but dont know what exactly to look/check for

Check intermediate and output voltages on the power supply. Check the standby output and the voltage on the control line.

Correct me if im wrong. My understanding when you said output, you are saying to check the output pins that go from the power supply to the main board.
but what exactly do you mean when you say "intermediate" power?

      Sorrt for my noob-ness

Intermediate = voltage on the large filter cap and voltages on the Standby and Main SMPS controllers.

When given only a minimal amount of information I can respond only with minimal suggestions. As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words.

You can post pictures to this thread. When posting pictures use "Manage Attachments" on the post page. I looked up this board on ebay just to see a picture of this board. There is no proof yet that this is the same board that you have. So please post a pic.

If the one that I saw is the same, then you have two main filter caps dead center of the board. Check the voltages there to gound. Also, check the pins on the output of the power supply.

I know, for me, it makes it easier to first take a picture of the board and then use paint to make notes of voltages ect...

First things first, you'll get better responses when you provide pictures - clear pictures.

Well, right when I was posting that, you posted the picture. Thanks!!

OK.... Check the picture that I revised below. The green box is the fuse. Check the resistance of this with the power off and disconnected. If the fuse is OK (zero ohms .1 sometimes depending on meter) then check the caps in the red box with power on. Check the power to ground and report back.

you are talking about the green box in the middle of the board, or all of them?

Also, when you say red box did you mean the 2 long red caps?

again i apologize for not knowing the terminology

Somebody else forgot to attach a picture. Glad to see I'm not the only one who does that.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
