Next, what was replaced on the refurbished board? The initial problem certainly sounds like bad capacitors; the new one (two seconds to black) COULD also be bad caps. Or it could be a problem with the inverter.
There are two possible avenues you can take here. If your 'refurbished' board came with a warranty, I would certainly suggest you take advantage of it.
The other possibility is to troubleshoot the current flaw, which could be bad capacitors, a bad inverter transformer, a failure on your part to properly plug in one of the CCFL wires (just had that one a couple of days ago), or a bad CCFL in your TV.
To troubleshoot the current problem we need sharp, well lit pictures. For best results they should be at least 1000 pixels on a side, the site limit is 2000 or 2 meg total. At this point we need one shot from directly above the power supply, and one shot of the back. A third shot of the back of the TV would also be nice. What we do NOT need is a half dozen close-ups at this time.

Re: Samsung Blackout
Hey
i have that TV, had the same problem with my tv, it was 2 caps on the power board, after getting quotes at 400+$ to repair/replace power board(happened days after warranty ended) decided to break down and do it myself, $ 3.85 to fix, and the caps showed no visible signs of fault, leave it to mr esr meter, finds em every time.

Re: Samsung Blackout
Ok ill satrt by saying sorry i havent given your the full picture,
yes i read online that the caps can go bad on the psu so when my initial problems started of the tv turning off and on at start up i did chage the caps which didnt look bad (i know they can be whith out being bulged or leaking)
and at that point after just changing the caps the tv would just turn off i didnt realise it was just the tv backlight just switching off i thought the tv was shutting down so bought a refurbished psu which looks to have had a few of the caps replaced on it to do the same thing im starting to think can they both be faulty? i find it hard to belive both psu would act the same so im leaning towards it being something else any way heres the picture you require any more info from you guys would be helpfull

Given his inability to comprehend even simple directions, I think he's SOL...

Re: Samsung Blackout
PlainBill i thought the picture were good enough for what you asked!
the psu i bought did not come with warrenty and UK TV's only come with 1 Year manufacturers warrenty.
And how can you void a tv with no void labels to void??
what would be your first port of call in terms of most likely causing the current problem?
Timeline
1st notice at startup tv would on/off a few times then come on and then would be ok for the rest of the night.
i replaced 2 caps on the orginal psu the two i replace where the 1000uf 16v 105c ones that most people had said were 90% of the times the faulty ones.
after replacing them the tv turn't on but then the backlight switched of 2 seconds after start up
so replaced the psu with a refurbished one and still the same problem i know the second psu could also be faulty but having the same symptoms makes me think its either the TCON or the display board.

* Camming out screws because your screwdrivers are dull or the wrong size
* Putting screws into the wrong holes
* Missing screws
* Poor soldering that is noticeably worse than factory.
* Plastics or electronics damaged by tools and not normal wear and tear
* Scratches and dents in places normally hidden
Service centers doing these things will get complaints and will improve tools and technique or have their contracts cancelled by the factory.
You have two boards so if you have avoided the usual bad work and can assemble the TV and make it look good again you should have no problem with the warranty. You should at least call to find out if there is a warranty and how much trouble it will be to obtain service. Many warranties offer onsite for large and heavy products to eliminate the shipping problem.
Once the TV works you can test and sell the other board.
