The clicking sound - is that produced when the fault occurs?
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

It looks typical of a failing or bad t-con board. Does the tv have sound during fault?

Yes I heard that and I wasn't sure if you were turning something on/off during the test, but if the TV makes the clicking sound, have you identified where the clicking comes from? Is it a relay on the power supply, or main board? From the speakers? That is probably a clue that some power supply rail is going bad.

There are a number of potential faults that cause this. What is happening is that somewhere between the video processor and the display something goes wrong. It could be the Tcon, it could be the video processor itself.

I've seen this fault occur when the main board power supply goes south. Usually there's a little SMPS buck converter which provides a core voltage like 1.8V or 3.3V to the CPU. (There may be more, depending on design.) Also, the Tcon usually gets power from the main board, or sometimes the power supply. Check that the Tcon voltages remain stable before and during the fault condition.

Perhaps the clicking sound is caused by the power to the sound processor, or audio amplifier, going bad briefly - this could upset the Tcon too.

            Do you have a scope?

Thanks Tom, I will check the power supply, and no, I don't have a scope.

Can anyone identify the classification of this data signal?

Hi, I'm an elevator technician. The attached oscilloscope display picture is from a digital elevator hall arrival lantern data signal. We have been having problems with “ghost signals” causing intermittent hall arrival lanterns to illuminate randomly when the elevator is not actually due to arrive at the floor.

The tech support of the hall arrival board manufacturer (CE Electronics) is blaming the elevator controller manufacturer (MCE), and the tech support of the elevator controller blames the hall arrival board manufacturer.

The boards are powered by a ground referenced...
