Hitachi L22H01UB Logo then Blank screen.

I bought Hitachi L22H01UB a while back. Its gone faulty. when you power it up, the "Hitachi" logo will display briefly and the disappear. The screen is then goes blank, however you can see the back light is still on. Remote has no effect. The touch panel responds to touch, but nothing on the screen.

I did a search on internet and it a apparently a really common problem, however haven't found a solution. This fault also affects the L19H01UB. there seems to be a lot of refurbs on the market, which suggests something dodgy with this model.


Any ideas?

Any ideas?

A failed voltage regulator, a software (firmware) problem, or omitting the heat sink from a chip that needs one are all possibilities.

I've measured the 3.3V reg for the NXP driver chip and thats fine. measured the voltage from the power supply 12V and 5V seems to be all in tolerance.
I'm assuming that the Hitachi logo, is generated by the NXP chip at start up. it almost suggests that the NXP is running, however it might be stuck in a loop. But I'm only guessing.

I know there is a problem with this unit, because when I searched for it in google all I got was refurbished units for sale. also quite a few people have the same symptoms but no answers.
