Vizio P42HD and P42hdtv10a interchangeable parts?

Hi guys, I have a P42hdtv10a that I am pretty sure is in need of a z-sus board. Ive seen a few people advertising a P42HD z-sus board for a p42hdtv10a. My question is are these parts really interchangeable? Ive compared both boards and though they look different, they still have the exact same cable connections. What do you think? Ive uploaded photos of both tv's below.

Here is the back of a P42HD:

No they are not compatible. Even though they have similar connections the boards are not interchangeable.

If the connections to the z-sys are the exact same -location shouldnt matter- as for pinout and size; the buffer ribbons however will have to be in the same exact location the board should work...

You could also always do an IC chip swap but it takes a high watt solder gun & desoldering wick or gun...

Cant give you much comparison because you dont have a side by side of the z-sys boards alone.... so its a tuff call...

these z-sys boards are used in a large range of plasma and other buffer type boards... I have used newer revisions of a z-sys board with no issue mind you it was out of an iLo and put into a coby/haier unit with LG guts...

I see issues with the pinouts at the P1 P42HD board and P2 on the other. They don't match as far as I can see.

Even if all the connections match, you have to be aware of the differences in Vzbias adjustment range, pulse width, ERC capacitance & inductance, etc. No guarantees whatsoever that a swap from an entirely different model will work...

Re: Vizio P42HD and P42hdtv10a interchangeable parts?

Most plasma units have a variable biasing design to them which means when you hook boards up to the PSU the PSU automatically adjusts voltages based on load values...

Modern TVs arent designed for skilled electronics techs to fix anymore; they are made for part swap dummies...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

                Vizio D55un-E1, bad Q9100, C9100 & R9111, parts ordering questions
                by DXseekerMO
Hello everyone, I just sourced a Vizio D55un-E1 with no status light at any time. Here's what I know:

                First referenced this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=d55un-e1

Complaint: After a power outage the TV will not turn on with no indication of a status light.

Findings: Complaint verified. Q9100 is short gate to source but neither of these are short to drain. R9111 is blown, board has a scorch mark next to the resistor. C9100 is blown with a hole in one side. U9101 appears unharmed as do the other board components....

Parts ID for Vizio power board model E550i-B2 DPS-167DP-1
                by JohnCT
The short story is that I have to repair board this for someone and it has the typical standby IC failure (LD7913, Schottkey, and Z909 4.7V zener), but someone has harvested some other zeners from the same circuit <sigh> before I got it. Everything else is there.

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone ever documented the zener values in locations Z900, 902, 904, and 907? I assume there's no schematic of this board?

                Thanks.

                Vizio M65-C1
                by mrtek
                Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01 Schematic and Parts List
                by Mark D
The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...
