Ok, I have read through a bunch of threads, and if you guys think I'm in over my head, let me know and I will just throw it out and get a new one. I don't work the comps and stuff, but i am pretty mechanically inclined. I think I can do this, I just don't know the terminology. I have the back off, I checked 2 fuses that I see, and they were good. I do not see anything chared or burnt. Also all I have is a basic digital meter. I think from what I read it is the power inverter, but I don't know how to find it. Also, where do you get the cheap replacement parts from. Any help would be great, thanks.

Run your model number through ebay. All or most of the boards in your tv will come up if you are lucky.
from there you will be able to identify all your boards.
This is a crash course for you.
The most common problems are the feedback curcuit on the inverter board and not always the transformers (replace the inverter board).
The other common problem is caps on the power supply (recap or replace power supply)
Worst would be the main board (about 25% ) so far for me.
People here want pictures to look at so as to help you understand what you are looking at.
The inverter board is/or can be hidden under sheet metal ( high voltage ) on the back of the panel either right or left side.
Search old threads for info.
I use ebay and a few places talked about here for parts.
Good luck!
