    Jvc lt-26a61sj

Just got my hands on a jvc TV that was used in a haulage company office 24/7

they've already sent it for repair inspection and decided the £180 for the power supply repair was too much for its age so they got a new one,
so thanks to them diagnostics was made a lot easier lol

I'v not powered it up as don't want to risk anything being damaged

so i went strait to the psu and what a surprise!

on the 24vdc side it has 2x capxon 2200uf 35v, and after a coil a 1x 1200uf 35v caps all buldged (no other caps on this supply)

on the 12vd side it has 1x capxon 470uf 35v that is all so buldged
(there are three caps that have been replace before on this side, 1x 1000uf 25v and a 470uf 25v, ether side of the bad 470uf 25v) and one 1000uf 25v just before the output power connector

question is should i just get rid of all capxon capacitors fitted or just try the buldged ones first and go from there?

heres a pic, the ones marked in red are buldged, ones marked "...linked..." are on same circiut and linked

Seeing bulged Capxon is no surprise to anyone who frequents here.

The standard recommendation from members here is to replace all the caps, especially Capxon. The biggest one rarely, but not never, fails.

If you are in the USA, follow PlainBill's instructions on how to order Panasonic FR or FM caps (use FC if the previous are out of stock) at

Those rarely, but not never, fail. You will know it if they fail.

          cheers RC

found all of them so ordering from digi-key, RS and farnell prices are a joke

all FM series except one (10uf 35v) that's an M.

posted a pic of my order, do the part numbers look familiar if you'v ever ordered the same at some point?

As long as you verified all the uF, voltage, diameter, and height (important due to heatsink clearance), the order looks fine.

You may want to consider ordering a spare cap or two or some other items given the high cost of shipping?

I forgot to mention the "M" series.

If it fits, digikey has the Panasonic FC cap in 10uF 50V. Check the dimensions to see if you have enough height clearance and diameter width.

The FC is better suited that the "M" series.

KingWin ABT-650MM 650 Watt ATX PSU [PCB: SW8835REV:A]
                  by momaka
For today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
                  http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp

I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.

What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors...

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
                  by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                  Mb nm-c421

I have a problem with the usb-c power dc.
The motherboard start only in one side of the usb-c

Replace the usb-c port 2 times same problem

With the usb-c meter, one side 20v ok, other side the usb-c meter don't come on

Try to test the pin with the Mechanic Tail insertion tester and every pin are ok ?

Can the pd controler be the fault ? Or something else maybe ?

                  Thx

Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen.
