    Viewsonic N2635W freezing

I acquired a Viewsonic LCD TV model N2635W.
The unit works fine for a several minutes and it freezes.
And later on it restarts but without the sound.

after turning of the unit for a 5 to 10 minutes , the unit powers on and after freezes again.

    any body has similar issue?

    Thanks

Sounds like its overheating. Point a big old box fan or something at it and see if it stays on longer?

Thanks for the suggestion. I put a fan on the back of the LCD.. and the TV has been running for 5 hours now without single freezing. .
The fan seems cooling the LCD and preventing the overheating.
Is there any faulty component inside that causes overheating..
I am thinking of installing a small fan inside the TV.

      thanks again

Try checking (carefully) inside for the thermally sensitive component. A small cooling fan, a heat sink might do the job, or it is even possible a thermal transfer pad may have been omitted.

I dont suggest messing around/feeling aroun for hot components. You kight get shocked or the tv could get damaged. Just add a small fan somewhere inside...

Ps: lol i was right! Not bad for my first time answered a tv questiom

usually the solder balls break on the CPU BGA and causes just this. you can heatsink the main CPU and put a fan on it, or reflow the BGA with a heatgun controllably.

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
              by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
              by CoinCoin88
              Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

Unit runs but no speaker output kenwood KR-6030
              by DrDos
I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...

              Dell Inspiron 7520 (Intel/AMD) LA-8241P Freezing Issue
              by FShahid
Hi I have Dell 7520 which has i7-3632QM as well as AMD 7730M Discrete Switchable GPU.

This is BACO Switchable meaning the AMD GPU can only "render" and cannot work as alone as it depends on iGPU for output.

Attached is the datasheet for LA-8241P which shares common with Inspiron 5520 and Vostro 3560. Link to Schematics: https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...a856347d78.pdf

The laptop has worked flawlessly for last 9 years, with CPU temps never exceeding 90*C and GPU barely reaching 80*C on gaming/full load.

              Since...
