Hi friends,

I would ask for a little help with diagnosing this TV. Got it from friend, with no picture. There is a backlight, but TV is restarting approximately every 5 sec.

I found out, that if I remove either one, or both flex cables connected from main board, to panel, TV starts, I can hear samsung sound, backlight is ON all time, but there is no picture ( when at least one flex cable is connected of course ). I believe, it is not firmware related ( or am I wrong? ), but I have no idea, why TV starts with connected only first, or only second flex cable - was expecting short in panel, so one of that flex cables should be shorted to ground, and so I should see half picture with 'healthy' flex connected. But obviously, this is not that case. Long story short - TV cannot start only when both flex are connected.

Any ideas, what can I check? I measured resistance to ground of each coil on main board, here is result:

You need to connect these two points with a jumper, then you can determine which half is not working.

Nice, I had no idea, I should short some pins. Do you know it from your experience, or its some well known procedure?

After shorting them together, I can see half picture in both cases, but with lower flex removed, there are many vertical lines, so picture is corrupted. I am going to make some measurements on that side of the board and if I am lost, will ask again.

Hello, i have the same issue with the tv, removed the right side connection and with the jumper it shows half of the screen. Can you tell me witch 8 pins you masked? Thanks a lot

It's just trial and error. Stick some tape, plug it in. Each short is usually different but it's usually on left or right side not generally in middle

Thank you for the quick response 😊 . Yep I'm trying for almost half an hour in different positions. But now when im re-reading the thread it gives me a little question...when i remove the right flex and put the jumper it shows a perfect half of screen...on the left flex it shows no picture when i put the jumper. I will only mask for the right side flex? Or i should start trying also on the left one? Thank you in advance!

It is necessary to mask on the side that does not work, does not show.

What is it that your jumping and why does this work? Is this something that works on all screens or is this specific to this tv?

Here, depending on your luck (maybe a perfect picture will come out, maybe with thin stripes, artifacts, or maybe nothing will work out).

I believe he's asking if this jumping works on all tv's or just this model or brand.

Yea I'm trying to learn what is being jumped as part of the picture is blocked by the 13k and what tvs this would work for. I'm learning how to problem solve them quicker so I can quit wasting my time in certain areas. This seems like it could be useful for that
