My LG tv started going dark a few seconds after powering on. I replaced the led back lights after doing the flashlight test. The problem I am having now is the bottom of the screen is really bright and the middle to the top of the screen is darker. I can actually see the individual leds at the bottom of the screen. Not sure why that is. I've tried lowering the backlight setting but I can still see the led's at the bottom, and the middle to the top of the screen gets even darker.

Re: 70UH6350 Back lights
maybe you inverted the diffuser acrylic plastic, need to dismantle again and put it correctly (rotate it 180 degrees).Last edited by Biruslapio; 04-09-2023, 11:59 AM. -
Re: 70UH6350 Back lights
That was what I was thinking, that I may have put something in backwards or upside down. There is also a flexible white plastic sheet that is the first to go in and it has points on the edge...do the points go to the top or bottom?Comment

Re: 70UH6350 Back lights
I do not think the vertical orientation of these matter, only the diffuser, just don't flip them horizontally or put it in the wrong order and it should be fine.
You don't need to put the panel back to check backlight uniformity, do a test before and after you flip and the difference should be very obvious, it should be all clear, while with the diffuser flipped the bottom will be very bright only but the rest will be poor.Comment

Re: 70UH6350 Back lights
It's unfortunate, but not useless, it can still be used but the crack will be visible, it is better to look for a 70 inch with cracked screen for real cheap or even free and harvest the diffuser from that, same model or series if possible to guarantee it will fit, also the tv has to be edge lit from the bottom or top.Comment

by giddyupngoHello, I would appreciate your expertise on this. I have about 5 years experience with copier repair, so I have done a lot of board and component replacement. This is the first LCD TV I tried to repair, and it really humbled me. The issue was that on power on the TV power light would go on and then fade out seconds later, and there was no image at all, screen stayed black.
I thought this meant there was a power board problem, not realizing that the power light fading out was by design, probably so the light would not distract the TV watcher. This is not my TV, so I wasn't familiar... -
