Hi. Can someone help me please. Need a BIOS dump for the Canon G3400. 25Q64 and 25Q16?

I have read previous remarks on another post requesting same thing.

Someone was kind enough to forward there attachments. However, those attachments bricked my printer. I only installed the 25Q64 and left 25Q16 alone. Or should i do BOTH bios's....

Needless to say, what other software tricks can i use. I did try computer USB direct link to flash BIOS firmware update and well again bricked the printer.

Yes i did make a backup...

Any advice would be great if an experience on this printer can be given, Thanking you.

Just an Update to this Canon situation. This part I have not read anywhere on yoru forum but will post now. It would seem yes 2 BIOS chips are being employed by CANON. 25Q064 + 25Q16BS. Well the 064 version can be read and written over just fine with ZERO issues. Problems occur on the 16BS variant or little son board.

When I want to Asprog CH341 Pro or just Neoprog.

Neo says it is an I2C chip which it is NOT
Asprog will read it if you Force entre GD24Q16B but RETURNS FF in all colums and rows.
CH341A prog AUTODETECT reads chips just fine and AGAIN returns all FF's (PUN not intended)

Ho won earth can I read this data and write back the 25Q16.bin file to the secondary chip please. what software and settings. Clearly the SECURITY on the 16BS chip clearly is hidding all data and I also believe this is the TERMINING commands for the most EXPENSIVE cartridges. Would explain alot about canon.

Please if anyone has done this before can you please assist. Thank you

U[date. I have decided to unprotect the chip. Even thought it says nothing about it. Needless to say this has become a nightmare in itself. NeoPro says its an I2C chip which it is not. Markings says Gigadevice 25Q16B. Thus when checking its quad protection. So naturally one says to remove all protection and write it back to teh chip as such. This is proving to take a very long time. I sense there is a deeper problem with this chip. I have now ordered new 25Q16B chips from aliexpress to FLASH the 016.bin file. Will not know until 2 week sfrom now if I can unbrick this Canon printer.
So far I am not impressed with canon at all. The 2 brother that we have Lazar HL and MFC 6710DW are still working perfectly. Says alot when considering the complaints on BADCAPS site for Canon issues.

Ok further update. Due to my nature. The printer is now working. Trial and error both printer BIOS updating and human error. The printer is now fixed. Jus tpulling ink through which is NOT part of this topic.
Resolution is thus. WHEN you remove BIOS of the 064 and 14bs. Make sure it is SOLDERED to the main board before attempting to flash. 1 Way to check contect is with a multimeter continuity mode. Top PIN on board 1 to Leg 1 of the BIOS chip. repeat this 8 times and make sure you HEAR the beep. If its all okay then proceed to the CH341A BIOS flashing stage.
Then in CHIP14BS make sure you UNCHECK security settings on that CHIP. Can be found on Neoprogrammer under the PADLOCK symbol. Use drop down menu. Select EDIT. Then read, and most items will get a tick in every box you can see. REMOVE THEM!!!!!. Everywhere in that area that opened for you. Then WRITE button.
Erase CHIP then REprograme it with 14BS /bin file provided by BADCAPS in other TOPIC.
When BOTH chip have been DONE. Remove chip and resolder to the main board of the printer PCB motherboard. Make sure DOT on the CHIP is correctly Located. So make sure you take a SUPER CLEAR PHOTO of the CHIP BEFORE REMOVVAL.
Once all in place, put it back in the machine.
When it comes to reconnecting the Power lines on the main board. Make sure you see the following . 3 pin plug 1st - 2 pin red/black 2nd - and 3rd is a different color pulg but with blue/purple wires. Make sure they are located in that ORDER. Switching those 2 cable by mistake will surrender a 6000 error canon code and 3 orange and Green light FLASHES. Will look like its a paper jam feed issue.

In a NUTSHELL. Take photos BEFORE dismanterling EVERYTHING... Yes the main problem was CHIP corruption on 16BS and locked feature THANK YOU CANON....

PS if you ever SEE I2C as your CHIP marking from NEOprogrammer. This means NOT ALL LEGS are connected to the CH341A board for FLASHING.!!!!!!
