    UMAX Gemini D-16 Scanner

When I was cleaning a UMAX Gemini D-16 scanner, I found that C7 on the Scanner Assembly PCB was bulging (Matsushita 47uF 25V general purpose). This capacitor had PCB tracks going to the CCFL inverter module connector.
I replaced it with a 47uF 50V unit (was the 25V unit originally underrated?)
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

most scanner ccfl inverters run from 12v.
i snag the inverter and tube from obsolete/scrap ones before they hit the dump.

Maybe the cap is the I/P filter cap and should be a low impedance, 105C type.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

What are these components that detect paper in a fax scanner

        PROBLEM SOLVED
I DIDN'T REALISE MY SMALLEST SOLDERING TIP COULD JUST FIT BETWEEN THESE COMPONENTS.
I MANAGED TO REMOVE THEM WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE BOARD AND I HAVE MY INTENDED END RESULT.

On a Possio PM70 portable fax machine which has a scanner that detects when you push a piece of paper into the scanner slot.
It is these two small (3mm long) components that detect the paper and start the scanner feed motor which pulls the paper into the scanner.
(These are on the circuit board for the keypad and not the main board)

I want to disable these as...

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
        by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

Request: Beelink Gemini M BIOS dump (SN 4125HOLH70514 – Winbond 25Q128FW)
        by Max74747
        Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a verified BIOS dump for a Beelink Gemini M mini-PC.
The device is now bricked after flashing the official BIOS file from Beelink’s website (M41N100_1018_GeminiM8G36.bin).

        Details:

        Model: Gemini M-H-8128QD0W64PRO

CPU: Intel Celeron J4125 (Gemini Lake Refresh)

        Serial number: 4125HOLH70514

        BIOS chip: Winbond 25Q128FW (8-pin SPI, 3.3 V)

Symptom: Power LED and fan run, but no HDMI output after flash.

If anyone has a working dump (.bin) for this revision,...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
        by CoinCoin88
        Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

Unit runs but no speaker output kenwood KR-6030
        by DrDos
I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...
