Hi, anyone knows how to check this psu is good or not? There is no light when press the button at the psu there

Look at the board and see what marking are on it
See if you see a power ON power GOOD 12 volt 5 volt 3.3 volt and the normal ATX switching power supply markings if it does then hook the power ON to a ground wire and it should turn but you might have to load the 5 volt rail

If not then someone else will need to help you with it

I try to use a 565-1664-ND which is a 10mm in diameter unfortunately it will not fit because there are two of them the same size and value and there is no room and they go to two different circuits not in parallel...

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

Dell Pro 13 Plus PB13250 Bios Unlock

Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell Inspiron 5590 Board 18778-1 no charging, charging not possible

I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...

Some models have a choice of 2 different firmwares, it depends on the dell SKU.
The SKU is in brackets (****)
