    minimum PSU requirements.

    I have a sesonoic 550 HT.
    I just got a ASUS P6T with a core I7 920.
The ASUS manual says the recommended milnimum power supply is 600W.

    Their calculater http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyC...Language=en-us

Seems to be ok for the peripherals I have.

    Any ideas on this?

    Re: minimum PSU requirements.

Write your configuration: most if not all online power supply calculators don't rely on mesaurements but on estimations which turn to be way off from real power draw; moreover OEMs are aware that most people love those cheap, overrated and dangerous power supplies made by low quality manifacturers and declare high loads just to be on the safe side.

Except for a top-of-the-line gaming systems with hi-end dual videocard setup (say nVidia GTX280 or Ati 4870x2) or a server with a dozen of hard disks, your computer should draw less than 400 W at load. Don't blindly believe me, check some i7 reviews (i.e. Anandtech or Techreport) to discover what an average i7 system draws (psu inefficiency is included).

In short, unless you have a lot of power hungry components, the Seasonic is up to the task: write your configuration to be 100% sure.

zandrax is right those power supply calculators are junk.
You can put the same info in two of them and get answers 200 watts different.

Go find an Intel board that supports the same CPU's and has the same chipset then look in the TPS [Technical Product Technical Specification].
