Re: Thermaltake TR2 430W W/O PFC
Seriously, no 12V 4 pin or 8 pin connector? I find that hard to believe since it's an ATX PSU. This shouldn't have two PCI-E connectors, is one of them 8 pin? Anyways, this is a single rail unit, so you can solder the yellow wires to where the other yellow wires are installed. You'll need a beefy soldering iron to heat up that area. The black wires can go with all the other black wires. You'll also want to at least replace all the capacitors on the +5VSB circuit, because this unit has a "critical capacitor" if it goes bad, it will fry your motherboard. Pictures would be nice -

You are correct, and I mistook an 8-pin connector for another PCI-E connector. Closer examination revealed that it is actually 2 4-pin connectors that snap together and can therefore be separated.
DUH!

by whc14765Hey,
I have a Gigabyte 980TI Windforce. No shorts on the main 8 pin PCIE power connectors. The 8 phase buck converter inductors are showing 2.5ohms.
The card doesn't power up at all - no lights, no fans, nothing. I noticed that all of the 8 phase inductors are showing 0V. I couldn't find a fuse for the 8pin power connectors.
I did notice that the PCIE x16 connector 12V line has a fuse F3 (10A marked on it) which is blown. It is reading 16ohms on one end.
1st Question: Is there some logic on the board that checks the 12V on the PCIE x16 bus connector... -
by DannyxGood day folks. Recently, I started doing more and more alarm system installs which involve dealing with a ton of small wires which are part of 4 to 12 core alarm cable. To make my installs as clean and neat as possible, I twist together the individual wires whenever possible to make braids like in the picture. It takes a lot of time and wears on my fingers really quickly, to the point where I actually developed a blister on my index finger from all the twisting. This got me thinking if there's a tool designed to braid small wires like this. I know there is something for twisting together solid...

i recently bought a logitech z607 surround system. however, its giving me grief. when i first connected it, it only had sound coming from the front right speaker. after a great deal of fiddling and reseating the speaker wires into the spring clip terminals, i finally had sound coming from all 5 satellite speakers.
however, the sound still gets cut off intermittently if i move the speakers, subwoofer or move/touch the speaker wires on the back of the subwoofer. so i wanna ask what is the right way to connect bare speaker wires into spring clip terminals?
i googled...-

by eccerr0rAnyone try just cutting all the extra pins and card edge of a PCIe x16 card to make a PCIe x1 video card, just to stuff another slot and connect more monitors?
Would this be considered a ghettomod?-
