    Delta Source - ADP-30GF

    Delta Source - ADP-30GF

    Guys, I have a power supply like this, it is used in a Cisco SG300-28, but it suffered a discharge and the Q2 exploded. I don't think of anything like that.

    The IC used is a uc3843b and the FET is a K2544.

    Would anyone be able to help?

      Can we get full pictures of the PSU's top and bottom (preferably detailed enough too, to tell components apart) so we can see what Q2 is used for? I can't really say anything more without those. Some people are good with finding schematics online, but my skills in that area are poor... so I just go by what I see and controller IC datasheets.

              It probably is, and probably a common BJT part too (as that's usually the norm.) I just can't quite confirm 100% though, because the provided pictures are quite low rest and I can't make out where the finer traces go to on the board. There are also some parts on the top picture that are hidden from the angle at which it was taken. So without better pictures, I can't identify more.

                  Calculating ESR from tan delta -- tan delta's dependence on capacitance

                  I'm finally recapping my Soyo K7VX6 motherboard (aka KT600 Dragon Ultra) and replacing Sacon SZ-series caps. The Sacon SZ datasheet provides a spec for tan delta, but not for ESR, while the candidate replacement caps are specified in terms of ESR.

                  I found this nice little description of the conversion:

                  It mentions that a general spec for tan delta has to be adjusted for the specific capacitance before plugging tan delta into the formula...
