    Bestec in Emachines S2482

I need to fix this system for a friend, but I wanted to make sure I could put a normal ATX power supply in this system before I change it out.

The Bestec is a model ATX-250-12E. Has Jamicon caps but none looked bad, then again the whole computer still looks new inside.

The motherboard is an L7VMM2 with OST and other crap caps, but everything looks good still.

So basically I want to change the PSU, install an 80mm fan in the back of the case, and reinstall Windows. Anything else I need to check?

I only have about a $40 budget for a PSU, so looking at some Sparkle units. The original Bestec was rated at +5v 25A, +12V 13A, and +3.3V 20A.

just recap with good low er caps.
i replace the 10@50 near the +5 stby transformer with a 22@50 panasonic fc.
    its next to the 220@25
the 10@50 is the most common cause of +5 stby overshoot and results in mobo death.

I would recap, but it would take longer for me to order the caps and install them than it would to replace the unit, and the owner needs it by next week... Would a Sparkle FSP300-60PN be a good PSU for this system?

          by grimacelord
          Hello,

I know that this is probably a long shot, but I figured if anyone could find this BIOS, it would be you guys.

I am working on an (old) eMachines T6520 desktop PC that might have a corrupt BIOS.

          Model:
          eMachines T6520

The computer does power on, CPU fan spins, but does not POST. No display.

Sparkle 1200W PSU MAGNA Model: SPM1200AXJ8 - Broken. Need help identifying components. Any schematics available?
          by Sam Scarbo
My Sparkle (SPI) PC power supply has broken. Originally, there was totally no power output. The 5V-standby was not there. I have replaced a few bulged capacitors but not helping.

I was trying to do more troubleshooting but burned more components. Some got burned so badly that the markings were gone. And also, the markings of a few transistors were gone because the component surface was worn out somehow.
If you happened to have disassembled the same PSU model, please help to provide the markings of some of these components.

See the attached two pictures of the small...

          Emachines T3104 "Sleeper"/random parts build.
          by dmill89
I decided to see what kind of "sleeper" build I could do on the Emachines T3104 from cheep/free thread with the "random junk" I had laying around (with the exception of a SATA to IDE adaptor I bought to make the original Emachines optical drive to work).
