My boss brought his computer to work and said it DEAD would not power ON
after power outage that lasted two hour
Took a look at the mother board and most of the caps that are 850uf and 1500uf @ 6.3 volt had pop there tops a total of ten caps
So I thought let me look at the caps in the power supply and all of the caps that are 100uf and less to 4.7 uf where all open no ESR reading
about 10 of them
This is the first switch power supply that I have seen that all of the low value are open like that
I replaced all of the caps and the main power caps as well and all of the pop caps in the power supply
And it came back to life I ran for about 30 minutes 2 different time and it seem to work OK
I am going to recap all of the caps on the mother board
Do you think there is any thing I should look for after I recap all of caps
when doing a burn in test
