I have one of these with no lights, no fan.
Have power on the alw rails though.... very puzzling.

Hi No B-V file out for this board . Also full bios updates could be downloaded and extracted right from acer site.

No lights, no power.
19v DC in is OK
3v and 5v ALW has power as well but all the rest of the rails are off and the schematic shows they all have SUSP# as input.
I'm not getting voltage out of SUSP# from the EC. The voltage lines going into EC test ok.
SUSP# is 128k ohms to ground.... is this normal? or perhaps a short to ground somehwere? hoefully not in the EC.


The computer was brought into a university repair corner because of a harddrive crash. Whilst they were "repairing" it it stopped getting power and booting
My friend has passed it onto me to have a look.

Have you checked RSMRST 3.3V and S5 3.3V ? and any activity on external mouse or keyboard ..lights or anything. Missing anything reflash bios so let say the dcjack light don't light up when plugged in thats another sign to start with bios. If it's a two chip board meaning bios& EC then you need to relash both.

RSMRST is 0v, does that mean EC isn't running?

Is the +3VALW = S5 3.3v? - it's always on

Yeah, no lights on DCJ jack plugged in.... neither any devices (mouse,keyboard) - So how do I flash bios without a working PC?

oh my, looks like I need to buy a programmer... is it the RT809F?

So what would cause the firmware in KB9022 (EC) to get corrupted? Could it just be in a limbo state and need a reset?

Tl866A with opt adapter around a 100. Bucks on eBay is a very good cheap programmer easy to use just pull the 8 pin spi chip back up the original a when you are ready I will upload new file ready to re flash chip easy as that . Just upload original file after you back it up.

You could always check cmos battery it should be 3v or more not lower if this board uses a amd yes this could cause it to be in limbo also unplug it for a few min worth a try if it's a Intel model firm ware these days are very common to fail on laptops as much as 60% of my repairs are bios 😳

Are you sure yours is the original file ? mine are downloaded from acer for you exact model 8MB and EC BIN is 128 i also have back up's that i use all before all are 8MB
for sure use my file you should have no problems
