I see, I tried to search there but 0 results, maybe because of wrong inputs. You are correct regarding bios, I fixed a lot of msi wind netbook which involves bios. I'll post results after I reprogram bios. Thanks very much

based on your description on the issue, i suspect it's the GPU. take mild reflow and test.

I'm with you fd, the owner told me his kid was always playing dota on it. I already had this laptop cleaned 3 years ago.

I haven't touched it yet because I was summoned somewhere else for an emergency maintenance. I'll update you asap. Thanks!

This laptop needs reballing, I did a lite reflow and it worked. Now I know graphics chip is the problem. I never really liked reflow jobs so I'll send this to my uncle for reballing coz I can't do it here. Thanks people!

Laptop worked for a couple days after reball. And now it does the same thing. when power button is pressed fan spins a little then stops. power is still on. Also notice when I remove processor then try to power the laptop fan spins but never stop. any thoughts?

                    Re: MSI S262 schematic

Probably the chip is stuffed, the early batches were bad, the chip fails and reflow\reball won't fix it - but you might think it did because when you move the heatsink it can make the contacts work for a short time. Check the datecode... there are posts on the forum here about which dates are bad.

Thanks agent, I'll check the code. The odd thing is I get 0 volt on PL4 and PL5 (vhcore) when I try to power laptop with processor on it. If I remove processor I got 1.40v on both coils which gradually going down.

Thanks ala, I already tried those bios from website but sadly nothing works. If bios won't fix the issue, I guess I've got send this back to the owner.
