I want to thanks to our colleague ala_borbe, for the schematic.
When I can take some voltages and check some signals from the circuits of motherboard, I will post the results and if possible the solution.
The laptop starts when power button is pushed, but there is no image, also from VGA conector, and nothing gets hot.
It only takes 0.9 A. from 19V.
Could be a bios related problem?

I'm trying to read the bios chip, with my external programmer, but something is going wrong, it doesn't auto-detect the flash chip, and only if I read the chip without the verification mark in the "device ID check ", it reads the content, but sometime it reads zeros, an sometimes it reads only a portion of the hole content, so I think the flash chip is in bad state.
Has anybody a dump of this motherboard?

i didnt read this post. it looks like a north chip or vga chip BGA problem. Reflow it. btw, can you post current changes step by step from te beginning after you press on/off button. i dont think it is a bios related problem.

Hi spidey, I did, try to found a bios update to this Sony model, but with any luck.
It seemed to me a bios problem, so I took out the bios chip, and tried to read its contents, but probably the chip was broken and I couldn't read it, now I'm waiting for a new chip, and I have a new dump from other laptop.
One thing surprise me; when cpu is without cooler, its temperature is about 30º Celsius, but fan accelerates, then I put the cooler, and the fan rpm became normal. 30º!! ¿?

I search a bit, and saw that sony didnt update VGN-NW21EF bios. there is only one version. So they didnt put it on the web site. If you have a dump file please share it, then people can download it. Btw there are two bios flash chips generally in new laptops. one is near EC, the other is near south. You may encounter such issues about fan if the problem is about EC bios. But i think your problem is BGA related. And after re-programming the bios please post current changes from start. good luck.

Hi spidey, I only have a file to program the bios chip, (2.097.152 bytes) and this laptop is 4 or 5 years old, (cpu is a T4300 (AW80577T4300 2.10/1M/800)) so I think it only has one bios, chip U12 in the schematic (W25X16AVSSIG)
Till now, I have only seen two bios chips, in motherboards with PCH (PLATFORM CONTROL HUB) and Intel core I3, I5, etc.
When I re-program the bios, I will post the results.

Got it!!!!, I have reprogrammed the bios chip, and now is working properly. (well, not allwais, it has random shut-downs)

people forget the pc model , just look for board model , and REV and wich kind of KBC do you have , etc !
