    Lenovo Yoga S940-14IIL Schematic Needed

Hi! I have a question regarding a Lenovo Yoga S940-14IIL (81Q8). I bought one off eBay with an assumed faulty screen. The device turns on fine and I get a picture via external monitor but the laptop screen (which doesn´t look damaged) stays black.

I measured 8,8V on the lcd connector (with charger connected) and that seems unusual to me. Does this laptop have some sort of unusual design or should it actually be 19V on the lcd, like with most laptops?

As much as I would appreciate a straightforward answer, I would also love to have a schematic for this one because I want to get familiar with reading these and finding out these things for myself.

    Any information would be appreciated!

Okay, nevermind. I found the schematic.

Still confused though... There should be a "19V_DCBATOUT" signal on the screen connector. But even with the charger plugged in there is only 8,8V.

I could hook up a lab power supply and inject 19V on the screen fuse. Would that be a bad idea?

On the other hand, shouldn´t 8V (battery voltage?) be enough to drive the lcd?

Hey I have the same issue on the same MB. Did you find the problem?
        Thanks and appreciate it.

The problem was related to the flex cable that is attached to the screen. This cable is prone to get cracks over time from opening and closing the lid. Unfortunately the only option is to replace the whole display assembly. Look on Lenovos forums, this was a problem for many owners of this model.

Thanks. Just odd that the 5 Pins 3D3V_LCDVDD should be 3,3V, but they are all shorted to ground. I will check further.
