darn it. unfortunately, neither of those worked. computer still has the exact same behaviour. i guess a bricked Surface machine is unfixable. thanks anyway, hoaca388. i will keep investigating the issue though. would love to see this computer working some day

Hi, I've got another with a bios password, tried changed TPM clear variable to 3C and tried other methods, get set temp key to 3C, still password remains, what is this?! HP, Dell, Lenovo are easy one method, change few strings and done!
Please help, attached BIOS dump.

Thank you both, but password still remains and bios says some settings are managed by your organisation, everything is grayed out...
