    CQ62-228DX DAOAX2MB6E1 BIOS Chip location

    I have a CQ62-228DX laptop with a DAOAX2MB6E1 REV E motherboard.

I am 1. trying to locate chip on motherboard and 2. am I even able to reflash this chip.

I searched thru these forums and others on the google and can not seem to find a solid answer.

My laptop turns on, blank screen and Caps Lock and wifi lights come on. Caps light blinks.

If I am able to flash, what version do I flash with?

I think the bios chip is between the RAM memory slot and the WIFI card slot ... post clear pictures with the motherboard ... these motherboards have problems with the video chip ... I would check this first ...

So, in theory, I should be able to flash it. Would I be able to use the CH341a flasher and if so, do you happen to know which bios file would go to that one?

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                    by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                    by BMCappelletti
                    Long story short:
                    - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                    - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                    - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                    - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

Lenovo laptop does not turn on, what does this number mean in a BIOS chip?
                    by thxd43
Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                    I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
                    by glovecaps
                    Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
                    by DynaxSC
                    Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...
