I tried the autopatcher 0.2 but I get no POST, i.e. black screen and caps lock LED is always on. So it looks like i need the trick in post #23.
Thanks all over the place in advance!Attached Files----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got a lenovo thinkpad E495 that originally wasn't turning on and was acting like a bios issue. The battery was charging when the charger was plugged in and the laptop would act like it was starting and get stuck at a black screen with the backlight turned on. I tried reflashing the bios with a file I found on another thread on here when I searched for E495 bios ( I included the bios file below as well as the original bios I read from the chip). When I replaced the bios chip I got the lenovo logo screen to show up and was able to start the self test diagnostics and everything except the mouse came back as a pass ( the mouse failed because I forgot to plug it back in).
I exited the diagnostics and threw in an ssd with windows on it to see if it would boot to it and after the lenovo logo I got the error
0183 Bad CRC of security settings in EFI variable
Press F1 to enter setup.
I pressed F1 and it went to a blank screen with the backlight turned on. I left it for about 10-15 minutes and when I came back it was still at the blank screen. I pressed the power button and it shut off immediately. When I restarted the laptop I tried pressing F1 at the logo screen to get into the settings menu and got the same error message and then the black screen again.
I haven't tried any other bios files because I couldn't find them anywhere and I can't tell if this is still a bios issue or if something on the motherboard isn't communicating with something else properly.
Also not sure if this belongs here or if it needs to go into the bios request section since I'm not sure if it's a bios issue anymore.
