Dell Inspiron/Vostro 5402 5502

I need to be able to enable the Thunderbolt security settings. The base thunderbolt settings are there, but the security settings aren't. (display port only, dock settings, etc.)

I can see the settings I need in Dell Command (DCC/GTTK), but it can't write bios settings since it's not a business line laptop.

I attached the official firmware. I can extract it with Dell PFS Extract, but I don't get what to do next. If someone could mod or help me mod this I would appreciate the help.

I don't have a dump, just the update package from Dell that I attached. I know that's got the flasher and updates inside, but they don't extract like the old Dells used to. Now I get a bunch of separate Bin files.

We need the original bios file to build the new bios file, the file extracted from the exe file is incomplete.

How do i get that though if not from the bios update? Is there a software that can dump to a useable file? Most of the bios programs I have are for specific files, but no dumping.

When I run it through PFS I get a firmware folder and a utilities folder.

As you have a working machine try to update the bios to the latest,if it still doesn`t have what you want to achieve then contact dell and check if its even possible with the current bios. Modifying the bios might not be an option

This is the latest BIOS. I just need to add the correct module to it so I have more functionality. I have a bios from a Latitude that has the upgraded functionality so I'm going to extract it and compare the bios to see what the difference is in the modules.

Hi i need to repair my bios dump, when i programing other dumps from forums, motherboard run but display info about manofacturing mode and blank service tag.

I've here this laptop. It doesn't power on and the only activity is the LED near power jack that ligh on amber just when power button is pressed.
There isnt' any visible problem or damaged component so far.
So Id' like to try a BIOS reflash then I need a dump BIOS.
Machine is: Dell Vostro 5502 (Model P102F002) Intel i5 CPU Service Tag 1M3YR93. MB model number #19862-1 CN-0N9CJ5

I agree with you peste and I don't know why my post finished in this thread but I'm sure I made a mistake. Anyway this morning I made a new post with right title and posted on BIOS request but it seems it was erased. I think that the best way would be erase my post in this thread and post a new one in BIOS request only, but I don't see a way to do it.

Thanks. My uploaded original BIOS was wrong due to programmer autosearch feature.
Just for refernece I used the EZP 2010 so must be entered manualy the chip:

For QH128AHIG => GD25Q128 16MB flash

For QH64AHIG => GD25Q64 8MB flash

Anyway also reprogrammed both BIOS but machine still doesn't power on, just amber LED when power on button is pressed.
