Good day to all. I also encountered a problem on the Dell Vostro 5502. No image on the screen. The caps lock and reboots are constantly on. The image appears only if you remove the CMOS battery. Is it possible to fix the native BIOS?

Shutdown after not booting back no sign no lights. When do CMOS or main battery unplug it is Powering on.

Good afternoon everyone, how are you all? I hope you're well. I have a Dell Inspiron 5402 that was stuck in a fast loop where the voltages were only pulsing rapidly. I reprogrammed it with a different BIOS and it started working again, but it's asking for a service tag. I've tried adding one but without success because it doesn't accept it. I'd like to know if you can repair its old BIOS.

Hello, I have a Vostro 5502 with a built-in nVidia MX graphics card. Computer cycles the keyboard backlight on and off constantly. The CPU gets warm which eventually causes the fans to start spinning. I patched bios from post 32. Now I get the backlight but the computer continues to cycle, albeit slower than before.

Could someone, please take a look at the extracted bios files and help me fix them?

I reflashed both bin files using the source files from post 13 and the computer is booting now. However, it stopped recognizing both nvme drives. I will have to look for another set of bin files.

Post the full motherboard model number, for example: MKB N TGL 8L MB 19861-1

Hi to all,
I ask help for the same model 5502 , MB MKB N TGL 8L MB 19861-1.
Initially the laptop had a black screen issue, all voltages rised and were good but there was no video output, nor from the internal display and from the hdmi.
Without the battery, the status led inside the dc jack was lit for 8 seconds then faded out, keyboard backlight and capslock led were lit for 10 seconds and the system rebooted automatically every 10 seconds , the fan was off until the cpu reached the threshold temperature, then spinned normally.
I tried to correct the bios files, downloading the same 1.33.1 version form the official Dell support website, extracted the modules by PFS extractor and copied the serial info from C0000 to CFFFF in the 16MB file, I cleaned the ME part of the 8MB file (when I used that cleaned ME , fan went to full speed asa the mainboard started), and also programmed various sets of 8+16MB bios files, but I didn't succeed in reviving the machine until now.
I used files from post #50 (thanks shiyab) and now the behaviour has changed, the fan goes to full speed and the machine doesn't reboot anymore, but even after 5-6 minutes, no video output from internal nor external hdmi.
During the last soldering, I accidentally shifetd some smds in the back of the board where sit the two bios ICs (PQ4417, R4310 and surroundings), I think I haven't lost anything and put everything in its place, but to be 100% sure can someone please send me a detailed photo of that area?

So I have located the BIOS chip - I think. Its a Winbond 25Q80DV1G. I reckon I can read the chip using a programmer I have here, however before I begin I just wanted to make sure that it's the correct chip?
Looks it to me anyway. It has a BIOS password (from Ebay) I bought it to replace the m/board on my faulty laptop. So is this the correct chip and can somebody help me remove the password from it?

Please forgive me for this but whilst I was working on chip removal etc to read the bios, Dell chat got back to me. They asked me for the code, the service Tag and a picture of a peeice of paper next to the service tag number, with my details on (name, address etc). Then, hold your breath.....they quick happily gave me the password removal code! In the end no need for me to remove the chip etc - I'm one lucky guy today. Thank you very much for your help with this anyway, Ritch.
