Good evening. I was finally able to get the bios chip from this soldered to some wires and dump the bios. Are you able to help me unlock and clean it? I hope it dumped right.

Thanks for the fast reply hoaca388. So that means that I have to pull the whole MOBO, unsolder the correct chip and then flash it. then resolder it back on.... sheesh... ur asking alot from a 58 year old with shaky hands... so i would need a heat gun(specifically for doing this)???Leave a comment:

You should only run your own .bin file.
You need a programmer, there are many brands, but the cheapest is CH341A (cheapest but not the best).

Hi, ya i have a dell 5520 and same bios admin lock. im not sure why people are saying express service # but when i go in and try to get into the bios it gives me this code(btw I have already tried bios-pw.org and it does not work.

I do notice you usually send a ".bin" file back? do I run that or?? cuz it wont let me update the bios? sorry, I am an IT guy 25+ years but this has been a bit disturbing for me as usually i can "defeat" this stuff. Thanks!! and cudo's for this website/blog/forum

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

I need help removing/unlocking the BIOS Service Tag password on my Dell Latitude 5520 laptop.
Problem details:
* Model: Dell Latitude 5520.
* Board ID (from BIOS file): TGL MB 8L 19819-1 (Southpeak15).
* Required Password Code: 3FE2 (BIOS Service Tag Lockout Code).
* Service Tag: (Enter your actual Service Tag from the laptop here)
* ​BIOS Status: I successfully modded the BIOS file and created FINAL_CLEANED_ME.bin (32MB) with a clean ME region (CSME 15.0), because the original dump was corrupt.... -

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate... -
Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p
3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow.
