Be sure to reset security settings to factory default.

still want password when i try go to bios and if i don't go to bios when he show logo HP then he stuck on logo.

i will back my oryginal EC file but he still stuck on logo HP ( i read other forum and i see 840 g5 have password only on 32MB not in EC.

i cant edit my post so i write again.

*Update.... i fixed this... and remove password via 32MB.

I have a HP 840 G3 and i read the Eeprom, use HP unlocker write the Eerprom, and now it will not start. Yan you help me.

600 g4 is not a laptop. You will find a password jumper on the motherboard.

hi all,

I have 2 hp 840 G5.
I unsoldered the 25Q256JVEQ chips, read them through TL866II and xgpro v10.50 and then unlocked through hpunlocker.
then I've reprogrammed them and then re-soldered them.

I read the forum, and I realized that I should have checked their content, unfortunately I didn't.

Once the PCs started up again, they worked correctly for a day and then they started to display this message when I turned them on:

"Bios identity needs to be recovered"
“The embedded controller MUD data does not match the BIOS MUD data.”

Then they didn't want to light up anymore. Now nothing lights up except a white blink (7 times) of the capslock and numlock keys.

I also read that on this model (840-g5) there were 2 chips to reprogram ... well if I understood correctly, one "above" and one "below". Is it correct ?

What can be the problem ? ….

Thank you for this site, with the info i read it was good to reset my Bios.

I did it whit a clip programmer from china on a HP ZBook 15G2

Enough space to clip on this motherboard only remove the battery and backcover.

It works fine. Customer service HP could do nothing, i purchage this laptop by a HP dealer years ago and was in the system. To old to suport

it recover password by itself
use uefitool ne a57 to clean still the same

unlocked successfully with other method

the laptop has two chips, one of 32mb and one of 16mb ,, you posted two of 32mb..which are different ..I didn't understand what is the matter with them..post the model of the motherboard, if you didn't make a copy of the original bios ... is written in white paint on the motherboard ..
