Sorry to butt into your discussion, but I am currently trying to restore the bios of an Elitebook 840 G8 that is locked by a password. I would like to know if I have the wrong chip and if it is 1 or 2.

Chip I found: winbond 25q256jven Is this the right chip?

Is there another one ?

As you can see in the post #237, the EC Chip named U366, so looking for it and upload it's content here. If we still need the other Chip will inform you.

The man who attach his EC file in Post #237 named the EC Chip U366, so I tell you to see if your Chip is labeled as U366 on the board or not. Otherwise if you can upload the 2 Chips do it. *Chips could be in SOIC/WSON Package*

Yes, you should desolder it and use a WSON adapter, or you can use WSON clip (I don't prefer that).

Here's your Unlocked Bios, in the first boot go to Bios Menu and disable security options (Default).
If the Password still present, upload the other Chip (Main).

Your device is (HP EliteBook 845 G8) according to your Serial Number (5CG1511WMY).

Since the flash I have a problem with the battery fault code and the battery in windows is either at 100% or 0%. Before it worked fine.

Try new OS, Bios update or another battery to know where's the problem.
