I have one TP412UA with shorted IT8987E.
So I have changed it, nothing shored, but no power. Every voltage present.

It has a 128Kb memory but I do not have the file.

post S/N, full name and model, motherboard model, etc.

I have one TP412UA with EC shorted. There is a fw for them? Or they don`t need programmed ?

Bios flashing fixed. Found one on the net, it worked but 30 sec delay and didn't detect ram. I have fixed those in the attached cleaned me region for others to use.

I got it working myself by replacing my bios region with the one from post 10 using uefi tool.

Unfortunately this bios does not work. The bios that worked is from post 10. Using uefi tool I can only find the start of the ME region but not the end.

Could somebody fix this bios for me? The laptop does run with a lend Bios downloaded from this site, but I want its original bios on it.

Yep, was trying to work it out, and realised it was in there but where....it really is a black art!

Anyway, no schematic on this one. Thermal camera showed the RT6228A (K6=) getting hot, along with the EC. Still 3 ohms on the LDO after I took the EC and that IC off, and this is also continuous to another coil on the other side of the board near the DC jack. So to have a complete short from a LDO to another supply means some dead silicon, and likely hit by lightning or something. Another board bites the dust.

Has anyone got a dump of the embedded controller for this model? Just had one come in with a shorted EC, the code isn't in the main BIOS.

240000 - 25FFFF .Found using 2 searches, 02 00 70 02 00 11 and J7IFT .Open the bios with UEFITool ,its in the padding area, with the DMI in the same padding , (CNFG)
