I have panic CPU caller, I guess it is EFI problem.

SPI had traces of soldering and was soldered lack of contact.
In-build apple test is OK (ADP000)
I can choose download source, but during the downloading system crashes.

Try the bios at posts 13 and 44 ,both have clean ME firmware ,all you need to do is add your serial number using a hex editor,and modify the fsys checksum.

For 2017 and older machines, serial number is stored in Fsys store of BIOS and can be edited with hexadecimal editor. Fsys checksum needs to be fixed afterwards
Search for "ssn", edit the serial number, save, open dump in UEFITool, go to the Fsys store and write down the suggested checksum in the panel on the right. Checksum is 4 bytes at the end of the Fsys store, between one zone of 0x00 either Gaid or another zone of 0xFF, it must be written in reverse order (so last 2 characters from UEFITool must be written first).

i have macbook air 2017 model a1466, i recived this from my client and itsnot booting but the fan is spinning then i try to replace a new clean bios from user on badcaps and now its working but i have a problem again, i cant boot on menu or format my mac its only hang logo, i try to recover it on online still not working

i have a question please help me to answer this, is it okay to use another clear bios bin for my a1466?, because my a1466 has no display and only the fan have spin and the cpu is heating up but i try to program the bios and use another clear bin file from other badcaps user and it work, but the problem is my mac is only hang logo and i try to format and install new os but i cant install new os or format the hard drive, i try to attach other hard drive but still hang logoComment

Hi everyone.
Macbook Air A1466 EMC 3178 (board 820-00165 A) not turning on and no charging light. Completely dead. With no battery connected it would power up and I could hear the chime, but nothing on the screen and then a sudden turn off. Sometimes during the chime. Opened it up and found some liquid damage. The flat that connects both boards has damage in one side (with a missing pin already). The connectors on the boards are fine, though.
Also, there was liquid damage on the included picture area, which are R8111 and C8111. A quick and soft brush on it made the resistor be gone....04-15-2024, 01:24 PM -
Hello guys, i have an Macbook Air A1466 Emc 3178, board number 820-00165-A and i encountered following problems. At first no light, no power..after opening and cleaning the LCD socket(Red dot under LCD plug and also Orange dot near wifi card)..got light on charger, fan working and chime...Tried several times and working, then short time after dead...next day work again for short time...after removing the board and cleaning the back(rust on components) with alcohol and soft brush, one of the resistor is gone and no power ..I want to change 5 (buy from China) of them (1 missing and 4 bot looking... -
I'm hoping someone can help me with a 2017 MacBook Air A1466 820-00165 that is running very slow. This is a board that I picked up on ebay recently.
This is not being caused by a sensor issue. All sensors report normal operation and the fans run at normal speed. Geekbench gives me a single core CPU value of 124, when it should be closer to 400. I was unable to complete an install on the SSD without putting it into a different computer first.
The board appears clean with no sign of liquid damage. I have done a PRAM and SMC reset, and I have done a reflow of the SMC. I have inspected...
