With the BIOS provided by danito , the 'LENOVO' logo appears and I can boot from my Ventoy SSD, as you can see in the photo. But as soon as I select an application and press Enter, the computer shuts down instantly. The same thing happens if I boot into Ubuntu: I can select the version, but as soon as the desktop is about to appear, the computer shuts down. It's not just the screen; the entire computer shuts down, with no power consumption. I've tried flashing it several times, but the result is the same. Does anyone have another BIOS to suggest?
The PC is working, so I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone of a basic rule that I had forgotten! If the PC boots into the BIOS, make sure to load the default settings before proceeding further. I had forgotten to do this, and my PC was showing the symptoms I described in my previous post. Hopefully, this can help someone. Furthermore, for serial numbers and keys, I followed the procedure of a contributor in this thread using the HxD software, which is super easy. Thanks to all the contributors of this irreplaceable forum
Dear community, I have the ideapad 330s-15arr model that turns on, does not give image in any way and the fan sounds a lot, after trying to install a nvme. Most likely the bios is corrupted. I bought a CH341 programmer, but when trying to make a backup of the original bios the software freezes without reading the Bios, try several programs and check the drivers, but I can not read the bios, is my CH341 in bad condition?
I am using windows 11.
greetings

Hi, thanks for the interest, I checked the device and it comes with the CH341B chip, my bios is W25Q64FW 1.8v (I am using the voltage adapter). I updated the drivers and now the AsProgrammer 2.0.4 program does not freeze, but it is taking a long time to read the memory to make a backup (it will take about 5 hours). How normal is this, should the bios battery be connected or disconnected ?
5 hours to read an 8MB chip is unusual. I don't use the CH341A so I'm not sure, but when reading/writing the chip, I will remove all power sources (including the CMOS battery) because at this time the power supply to the chip is pin 4 (Gnd) and pin 8 (VCC).

My mother's laptop, a Lenovo Ideapad 330S-15ARR (model name : 81FB and factory ID : JVHFC1) is not starting correctly anymore.
If you press the power button, it powers up, you can hear the disk spining (at least an advantage of these old drives !), but nothing is displayed on the screen or on an external display.
Num Lock key is unresponsive too. I tried the Novo button (little hole on the right), same results
I can only shut it down with holding down the power button for a few seconds
So it looks like a corrupted BIOS like others on this thread...
I read all the posts, but some informations seems missing , so here are some questions please :
I got the "template" BIOS from #27, and I understand that I need to Hex edit some values in this file, but how can i retrieve these values from the corrupted BIOS, which prevents me from starting the computer ?
If I can't extract the old values from the corrupted BIOS, may I get them from the stickers or from another source ? If so, how ?
If I get these value and set them in the template BIOS, I don't see how the put the new BIOS on the computer after... unless putting the BIN file on a USB stick can work on a dead computer ? Other solution seems to be linked to a "CH341A" item, which seems to be a chip writing tool. Every person that succesfully repaired their BIOS had this tool before ?

So I need to :
* Buy a SPI programmer,
* Remove the bios chip from the motherboard, or use the clamp if possible
* Backup the original bios !
* Extract some data from it
* Copy the data on the template bios
* Write the new bios on the chip
* Hope it works

You will need to buy an SPI programmer or take the laptop to a repair shop

25Q64XXX what is the complete full chip so I can see the datasheet and confirm if its a 3.3v or 1.8v chip
