I think those have the Atmel chips there are usually two of them. Replace them both or the one closest to the BIOS region(circuit).
The way to do it is remove all power from the board esp CMOS.
Then replace the chips and then only start it with AC plugged in. Then check.

The password is stored in a secure chip such as PC8394T-VJG , https://www.allservice.ro/forum//viewtopic.php?t=47

Uhmm. Are you sure? They aren't as big as the normal BIOS chips. They look more like the 8 leg/pin mosfet type.

Otherwise try the other way what SMDFlea suggested

EDIT: I see now that 24C64WP is the size that I'm referring to... Uhm even the schematic says there are Atmel chips x2.... Maybe they used those instead?

No you don`t need a KMX. With the 24RF08 or equivalent chip on some thinkpads you just need to short pin 5 and 6 together at the right time while booting up to remove the password. The R52 definitely uses the PC8394T ,and you can use any TTL device to read the chip ,using the scl,sda points. I made a
simple-i2cprog years ago, its easy to make.If the RT908F can read ttl try it.
To read the chip use R24RF08 reader and decode the password with IBMPass, if R24RF08 reader doesn`t work try the pc8394 tools

                        Hello Everyone,

I have Thinkpad T560 Which has corrupted BIOS. I have acquired Ch341A SPI flasher to program the BIOS externally. I see that to program the BIOS, i need a bin file for the BIOS. I was able to extract the .exe file of BIOS from Lenovo given here in this link:

                        https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/au/en/p...me=BIOS%2FUEFI

In the extracted files, I see that BIOS containing file has extension .FL1 and I need to extract or convert it...

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if this post belongs in this section? If not, please kindly move it to right section Mod/Admin.

I have a Gigabyte G5 KE laptop and I have forgotten the BIOS Admin password. I can enter BIOS menu but when trying to enter BIOS settings it ask for my password which I have forgotten. I can boot also in to Windows 11. I have tried to clearing CMOS by removing the CMOS battery for 10h. I have tried also to remove both power battery and CMOS battery and bridge the CMOS 2 pin connector on the motherboard. Then when booting I get a message that NVRAM has been...
