    Re: Mac air a1466-820-00165-a-lock

Friends I want to thank you all for helping me solve the problem, I was able to reinstall the OS and now is working perfectly, I used the ONLINE RECOVERY because somehow the INTERNAL RECOVERY I was not able to access it, so when Recivery was installed from Internet I was able to access DISK UTILITY, then i erased the INTERNAL SSD, I selected REINSTALL OS, then it showed me option to download I downloaded but it Kept failing sometimes when at the end would fail,, I spent more than 30GB of data trying to download the EL CAPITAN OS, I left it to download overnight, and when I woke uo I found it downloaded and asking to Select region, Thanks and HUGS everyone, I will make a small donation to the forum

Those models have T2 security, so it's not as easy to remove activation lock. There are numerous other threads on this excellent forum that discuss T2 unlocking. Best find which version of iBridge you have installed. I'd make another thread with your issue too.

Hello everybody: I have a problem in the bench with an A1466. It takes a lot of time since you push the PWR until the chime sounds. After that, the machine runs perfectly. But it takes 20...30 secs to gimme the chime sound. I thought maybe it will be a problem in the BIOS. This machine is an A1466 EMC3178 (it has Big Sur, so maybe the firmware was updated in the process of Big Sur installation, because the original EMC was EMC2678). I'll go to update here the bin file which is (suposedly) giving me this error, so I beg your help. TIA for your always invaluable help.

Sorry, SMDFlea...you are right. The MacBook Air A1466 SN is: FVHYHWZAJ1WK.You can also read in the back cover EMC3178. The MoBo is 820-00165-A.
It must be the latest batch, because it has Big Sur installed without tricks. It has 8Gb RAM, and only 120Gb SSD (I'm going to change it, amongst other things, like the startup delay problem...annoying!).

EDIT: This happens even without internal SSD. Even when you reset NVRAM; the time between chimes is veeeery looong. The curious thing is that, once started, the machine works like a charm (well...with Big Sur...I don't like it, but it works normally). I was thinking about the SMC reset signal, which can be "delayed" by any reason. But all signals in the scope appears well, compared to an older, working normally board (older, of course).

                                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2

This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

                                        UART (serial ?) splitter ?

Good day folks. I got a project on hand and would like some thoughts on whether it's possible to achieve, albeit impractical. You know me - I like to over-complicate stuff

The setup: I got a Paradox EVO192 alarm panel, a serial-to-ethernet adapter and an official PCS250 GSM communicator.

The task (TL/DR): connecting both the ethernet adapter AND the communicator to the single serial port of the Paradox panel. Connecting their TX/RX lines in parallel the data would get all messed up. At the very most, I THINK I could parallel the RX pins of the ethernet adapter...

Lenovo T490 - motherboard serial - windows licence lost - after corrupt bios chip replacement
                                        by baletak
                                        Hi,
had T490 with faulty bios chip. Bought chip out of ebay and soldered on. Laptop starts and works however serial numbers of laptop and motherboard do not match.
I have updated laptop model number.

                                        1) I did not find the way to update laptop serial number - I have this one.
                                        2) I dont know where to get my motherboard serial number and how to update it. Is it somewhere physically on the mainboard? How do I update it?

Hope to find someone to help me with this as I am hitting dead end at the moment.

                                        Many thanks

                                        Miro

                                        dynabook satellite pro C40-G-126 bios

Hello, I have problems with the BIOS password of my Dynabook C40-G-126, with motherboard IP3_CN16S_MB_V20_20201229B, I would like to change the BIOS to be able to change components because it is limited, it is the PYS26E with serial number 41100104H. I have searched the forum and there is a ".bin" file for my motherboard, but I don't know exactly if the serial number does something because on my device that ".bin" does not work or at least it does not remove the password.
Thank you very much in advance for the help, I will keep you informed
