    I am working on an HP X360 1030 G3, that will not post (black screen, fans on high speed).
    As a first step, I wanted to reflash the BIOS.

    I downloaded the most recent BIOS from HP and dumped the content of the Flash.
    The BIOS Chip is 32MB. The downloaded file is about 23MB.

    According to the UEFI Tool, the dump consists of descriptor+ME (16 MB) and BIOS (16 MB).
    So I would like to replace the BIOS part with the downloaded file, but it's obviously too big. According to UEFI tool, it contains nothing else but the UEFI region, but I suspect, it might also contain the EC region.

    Who can help me figure this out? Is there a way to split the downloaded image?

    Please find attached the dump and the downloaded image file.
    Don't foget attach serial number ?

        It contains the bios region and the ME region.

          Thank you for providing the file!
          Is it possible to explain to me, how to produce this file myself, so next time I don't have to bother you again?

            Bios region : 220h --> 100021Fh
            ME region : 1000240h --> end

              Thanks again for taking the time! Much appreciated!

              I tried myself to by create the cleaned file by:
              - copying the BIOS region (220h --> 100021Fh) to 1000000h --> 1FFFFFFh and
              - copying the ME region (1000240h --> end) to 1000h --> FFFFFFh

              My file now has the correct size and looks OK, but it's different to your file in ME and Descriptor region.
              I assume, your file was created from a different dump, is that correct?
              Would my file still work or did I miss something?

                No. You must match the ME region to the bios using the FIT tool.The file is built based on your bios.

                  Oof, I though, the ME region in the downloaded bios update should already be clean.

                  Is there a guide somewhere on how to do this process using the FIT tool?
