    need clean password bios 840 g3

    hello
    plz need clean password bios for hp elitebook 840 g3

    This device contains two BIOS files 64mb and 128mb
    I want to know what file password bios so I can upload it

                                I try 2 files from other post but no display just black screen

                                                        Hi Specialists,

                                                        I have a HP EliteBook 840 G3 with forgotten BIOS password too. I read some threads in this forum and was able to dump my BIOS with FPTW.exe (see attachment). Is anybody able to clean my BIOS from password protection? And if possible how is the way to write back the BIOS file? have I to use FTPW.exe again or do I need an other tool?

                                                        Would be nice to hear from you and kind regards.

                                                                In the meantime I used UNLocker.exe to unlock the dumped BIOS file. Than trying to write back the unlocked BIOS file with FTPW responds with error 368 (failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space).

                                                                Is there any other way by software tool to avoid the write protection? While reading this forum some other guys may have succes to release their 840 G3.

                                                                And do you mean the only way to write back my BIOS is to use a hardware programmer?

                                                                                    BIOS Corruption - Cause
                                                                                    So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
                                                                                    After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....

                                                                                    I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.

                                                                                    I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.

                                                                                    I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.

                                                                                    However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
