That worked but then it took me to another screen about the hard drive being protected.

cant unlock the drive easily without trusted core BIOS.... unless you can find the passwd, you might out of luck. you could try a computer with a hotswapping drive controller. it might confuse the drive into unlocking if you plug the drive in during OS boot.
