    BIOS Unlock potential - T540p ?

    Hello to all,

    I have in my hands a T540p , that i would like to unlock the full pottential of the bios , such as hidden options and wifi whitelist etc.

    Which of the 2 chips should i dump ?

                  Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

                  I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption.                   As per the the rules, here are the specifications of my laptop :
                  • Make and model number : Thinkpad T440P
                  • Serial number (S/N) : PB-03A7V7
                  • Model type - Model (MTM) : 20AW-S2N800
                  • Bios version : 2.50 (not 100% sure, that's what I remember)
                  Here is the problem, and the events leading to it :
                  1. Upgrade screen, keyboard, trackpad, RAM and CPU
                  2. Reboot and use the laptop for a bit : everything is working fine
                  3. Shutdown (no power) and upgrade WIFI with unsupported chip (AX210)
                  4. Boot up the device : bios warning, as expected
                  5. Shutdown the device again (no power)
                  6. Connect the 8-pin clip of a CH341a

                  Hi,

                  Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...
