    Hp elitebook 850 g8 dead after bios flash, need help with rebuild bios file.

    HI, i have hp elitebook 850 g8, that had a mdm lock. i bought new bios from ebay and programmed it and laptop died. Its takeing only 0.035A and blinking diode white and orange, soldering for sure ok . After that laptop is dead, even i flashed back old one bios and still the same. I need unlocked working bios. Please help.

      Why do you think if "...even i flashed back old one bios and still the same..." and "...soldering for sure ok..." any new BIOS will help you out ?

          Because i tried also flash other laptop (hp 640 g8) and there is exactly same situation. so it has to be problem with bios i think.

              Use BCU tool to write your DMI info:

              For MAC address search a sticker under one of the RAM module.
              Try this files where the EC is your unlocked EC content.
              Your uploaded BIOS is a big mess...incorrect reading i guess...

                  I tried the files you made and nothing has changed, exactly the same situation before and after flash.

                      Thinkpad t480s, completely dead after BIOS flash using CH341A programmer

                      Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....

                      If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.

                      BIOS Corruption - Cause
                      So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
                      After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....

                      Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

                      I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
                      So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

                      Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

                      I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

                      These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.
