    Thinkpad T14 Gen3 AMD - Absolute Removal

    Hello!

I have a laptop with Absolute Persistence module enabled in BIOS. I was hoping one of you kind folks could assist with removing Absolute on the attached bios dump? There is no password on the bios.

    Model: Lenovo T14 Gen 3 (21CF-003TUS)
    Serial: PF3V5GZE
    Board: NM-E441 rev 1.0

Also I hope I backed up the right chip, Winbond 25R256JWEQ

    Thank you!

Thank you, I tried it and the screen was blank for a while, then BIOS self-healing screen appeared and the laptop restarted with Absolute module still enabled and activated. Did I need to backup the second chip too?

Guys i was able to figure it out. For anyone having this issue. This thread helped a lot:

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...nlocker/page24

"Use UEFITool NE version and check UEFI Variables, there's usually one named AbtState, that one contains information if Absolute Computrace is Active.
Then use an hex-editor and search for AbtState, a few bytes before the string you will find the header AA553F(h), to invalidate that variable make it AA553C(h), save changes."

I took my original dump and search with HxD in unicode text for AbtState, then replaced all AA553F with AA553C where AbtState was found, then erased and reflashed my bios chip and voila Absolute module is no longer activated.

Thank you volinakis for trying, but looks like you missed some AbtState instances with AA553F.
