Problems flashing BIOS for supervisor locked Lenovo V15 G4 IRU 831A laptop

There was an error... Aborting......I'm using another Linux Laptop with Zorin OS...to try and patch my Lenovo V15 G4 IRU with above specs....It originally had Windows 10/11 installed and converted to a dual boot Kali OS/Parrot OS system. I may have used the wrong lenovo_autopatcher_0.2 (I believe was posted by @knucklegrumble....I am out of ideas and flat broke so i cannot afford another fix (spent it all as an e-com entrepreneur does) any help from anyone would be GREATLY appreciated.....
    • Laptop Model: Lenovo V15 G4 IRU
    • Issue: Forgotten supervisor password.
    • BIOS Chip: GD25B128E (or GD25B128B if that's what flashrom -L reported).
    • BIOS Version: The exact version you noted from UEFITool.
    • What you've tried: Mention you've successfully dumped the BIOS with CH341A/flashrom, and you've tried a lenovo_autopatcher but it gives the "corrupted or not valid dump" error.
    • Crucially: Attach your backup.bin file to the forum post. This is the file they will need to analyze and help you with.
I have attempted your amazing instructions on how to do a dump then patch and flash the BIOS with the CH341A USB Programmer but get the message....Using UEFIReplace to inject 2 DXE drivers...
    [1/2] LenovoTranslateService (GUID 826bcf56-bac4-43f4-8ea1-8cdf0a121abd)
first_dump.bin is corrupted or does not contain a valid dump.

The Autopatcher does not work with this model. Post your original backups and someone will help.

Hi, Here is my backup that i took from supervisor locked Lenovo V15 G4 IRU, 83A1, laptop.....i tried zero'ing out the first few lines of hexadecimal using Ghex, as instructed by elsewhere, once i found syspassword with UEFITool. I saved the file, reatached body with UEFITool, saved it as a Lenovo_modded_backup.bin.....used flashromto flash it and eveything appeared to go well and was verified, but first boot took 30 seconds or so for screen to display Lenovo logo and message to not power off as the Bios was ressetting, (or something similar) then it ended up at the blue supervisor password screen, turned off after a few seconds and back on but no screen. wasn't working, just like its off but the fan was running like it was on. Tried unplugging internal battery and CMOS battery and holding power button for 30 seconds, waited a minute and only using power cord, tried to boot to the same problem of dark screen....so i'm stuck and believe i need a good fresh copy to flash for the bios? IDK...it was my first time ever doing this bug to no avail...do you need anything else other than the attached backup.rar (which i changed to rar since you can't upload .bin files) Thanks JDong

I used the mccn33ww.16 BIOS file and secured the SOIC8 clip to the BIOS chip for a hot flash, with AC and CMOS batteries connected (but didn’t realize the power pack wasn’t fully seated). I stayed completely still during the flash, and it completed successfully. At first, the Lenovo stayed dark but no longer shut down after three seconds. Pressing the NOVO button made it beep but still nothing on the display until I saw a faint dialog asking for the hard drive password. After removing the SSD and rebooting, the BIOS menu briefly appeared, confirming the flash worked—my only issue was a dark display, which turned out to be a damaged display ribbon. Pulling the SSD revived the “bricked” laptop. Now I just need to find my hard drive password. Any idea why this worked? Thanks for the BIOS files provided.

                    Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
                    Initial Findings:
                    • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
                    • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
                    • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
                    Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
                    • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.

Help needed in unlocking BIOS Supervisor password - Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen
                    by baaligoga
                    Good day, everyone!

I'm encountering an issue with my Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen laptop related to the BIOS supervisor password. I'm seeking assistance and guidance from the knowledgeable members of this community in resolving this problem.

I am no expert and cannot perform soldering or unsoldering of the chip from the board. Therefore, I attempted to use an EZP 2023 programmer with a clip to extract the BIOS bin file without removing the BIOS chip from the motherboard. The BIOS chip has the following letters imprinted on it: "Winbond 25Q80DVNIG 2026". I used the...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
                    by Wahaz
                    Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 Desktop - Corrupt BIOS
                    by grimacelord
                    Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

                    History:

                    1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

Lenovo Thinkpad X13 Gen 3 AMD locked bios
                    by fulaphex
hello friends - I have purchased a used Thinkpad X13 Gen 3 AMD variant and only after making the purchase I realised that the BIOS is locked. I have spent a bit of time browsing the forum and from what I understand it's possible the modify the BIOS that is currently on the machine and remove the password from that BIOS. For dumping the BIOS from the laptop I have ordered this ch341a programmer. Below is a photo of the password prompt:

I have taken the cover off the laptop and I found that "serial number" is "GM-0358MB" and "type number" is "21CN-S19U00"....
