    ThinkBook 16 G4+ IAP Laptop - Type 21CY

    Hello,

Hope somebody can help with this: ThinkBook 16 G4+ IAP Laptop - Type 21CY

power button lights up, keyboard backlight comes on, the fans are spinning. However no video on the screen. Tried with new LCD-panel but no luck. I assume the bios is corrupted on this computer.

Could someone, please provide a clean/updated bios bin for this computer? I attached the original bin file here. Thank you.

Write what peste asked you for. Also look for another 16MB chip on the motherboard and upload its file.

This 1MB chip is for Thunderbolt Firmware, solder it back and search for another 16MB chip (128Mbit), it could be in SOIC8 or WSON8 package.

This BIOS will erase your Password. You have to flash both files (16MB+8MB) and just solder back the 1MB chip.

                        Both chips programmed externally.
                        Verification was OK.
Notebook won't start. LED only lights up briefly.

Yes, just solder the 1MB chip back don't erase it.
It's better to flash the chips outside the motherboard and choose verify after programming them.

I didn't do anything with the 1 MB chip and soldered it back on after you said it had nothing to do with the BIOS. I flashed both of your files.
When I turn it on, the LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then goes out again.
After that, it lights up several more times for a few seconds, then everything goes off again.
                              The fans are constantly off.
Before flashing, the notebook started normally with Windows 11,

So there is something wrong happened to the device. Let us know which SPI Programmer do you use? Are you using a clip/clamp or de-solder the chips from the motherboard? Do you choose verify after programing the chips and it pass successful? What is the full number of both chips? If you can send a close and clear image to your chips on the motherboard will be good. Finally what is the motherboard number?

                                      I use a CH341A programmer.
Chips were programmed externally using Neoprogrammer and ASPROG.
                                      Verification was OK every time.
                                      Chips are:
                                      Winbond 25Q128JVSQ
                                      Gigadevice 25R64CSIG

Everything looks fine according to the information you gave, but perhaps you rotated the chips, swapped them with each other, the chips got damaged or you moved a tiny component from the motherboard by accident.

Hi, I was hoping osmeone could help me with this.

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook G2 I bought on ebay and I was hoping to enable vrtualization to run WSL but there is a BIOS password lock on it.

The serial number is PF37TGLV and the MTM is 20YN0000CD. I downloaded and backed up the BIOS using Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit 2.0

I have attached a copy here:

Please let me know if anything else is needed....

                                          To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
