Do you know for certain that the chip is blank, what model is your programmer and software version. What is the chip part number, is it in the supported chip list.

The 25q16jwniq is 2MB ,it`s not the bios chip, its for firmware. Is this what you want or are you wanting to backup the bios ? .Use NeoProgrammer software

That chip is 16mg., it is where the BIOS firmware is located.
I have many programs for that programmer, the one you mention too, I use the one in the photo and it has never given me a single error, it works great

16 Mega bits , not 16 Mega Bytes. 16Mb (Mega bits) = 2MB (Mega Bytes)
