    MSI GE 65 - 9SF - Bad flash issue

    Hi All,
Having an issue with a bricked MSI GE65 - Model 9SF. Bricked BIOS, did not do a full BIOS dump backup including ME region (rookie mistake). Resorted using to the latest BIOS available from MSI to flash the BIOS via CH341A for this laptop.

Problem - I initially flashed a ME update that came out for this laptop as a separate update. Thus, before bricking the laptop the ME version was 12.0.94.2380. PMC version 300.2.11.1025 on the system. The MSI latest BIOS I'm trying to flash back via CH341A contains ME version 12.0.40.1433. PCM version 300.2.11.1024.

The issue I'm facing now is no POST. Power LED blinks few times and turns off. System will not power on at all anymore until I CMOS reset. Cycle repeats again.

Any thoughts how I can progress? Is there a way to insert the updated 12.0.94.2380. PMC version 300.2.11.1025 ME into the BIOS I'm trying to flash that has ME version 12.0.40.1433. PCM version 300.2.11.1024?

I do have the original MSI ME BIN file version 12.0.94.2380. PMC version 300.2.11.1025 but have no idea how to properly roll this into the BIOS I'm trying to flash.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    Full model number: MS-17E2
    SKU: GE65 Raider 9SF-653US-BB9988H32GXXDX10MA
    Serial: K1905N0007637
    Make: MSI
Motherboard Version: I'm unable to locate any stickers or PNs on the motherboard itself.

Help Disabling Flash Protection Range Registers on Lenovo P360 Tiny BIOS
          by abhorsen
          Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...

[Problem/ Request] Bricked TongFang GK7MRFR BIOS
          by cr4zychriss
          Hello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details

          PS5 EDM-031 1216A BIOS Issue
          by Syph1979
Hi all. First post here, so I hope I'm getting this right and operating in the spirit of things here.

I've been working on consoles for a while now. Always learning and trying new repairs, but I have one that has been stumped and I wondered if anyone with more experience could help?

I picked up a PS5 from eBay recently. It was described as not having the disc drive, but it was also a no power unit. On testing it was clearly an issue with the supply (no 12v), so I replaced that and then when I inserted the power lead, I got 3 beeps. So far, seems all related. As I was...

Can I flash a working BIOS from one computer to another of the same make, model, etc?
          by TyMercer
Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I'm not looking for a specific BIOS file, I'm trying to understand how one makes a clean BIOS file. So here's the background. I have 2 HP EliteDesk 800 g2 mini 35w pcs. One is working fine; the other doesn't have display out or working USB's nor does it have any flashing error lights. The CPU does get worm enough to cause the fan to spin up, so I think it's posting, but I just don't know. I had it working at one point but trouble started when I tried to put in a drive caddy that had a cooling fan on it. I thought it would be compatible but wasn't...
