Questions relating to the removal of the password on my IBM T43.
I have built a modem with max 232 as shown and downloaded the necessary software
How to understand when the manual says :
Keep the probes firmly connected to the board marks while you execute the reader: rpc8394.exe filename.bin, where filename.bin is the file where data is be stored.
Does that mean that you just start the program file rpc8394.exe?
Is the program then managing the modem, giving the file a name and saving it?

1- in dos prompt for example c:\program_directory \rpc8394 save.bin
2-plug the "modem" cable in serial port
3-connect the probes firmly to board marks .
4-press enter
5-use ibmpass to decrypt save.bin and reveal password
Hello, I have the same problem as you, i use a SimpleI2C programmer, but when i try to read the program says ERROR DEVICE NOT FOUND? What can be wrong?
The attachments seem to have been restored. Thanks for the program. Would it be possible for someone to dump a clean file for the T43 laptop (from PC8394 chip) for me please? I dumped mine but the password cannot be revealed for some reason. Looks like it's somehow corrupted. If I manage to get a working dump i'll write it to the chip with wpc8394 and maybe it will work.
I think I found a good (unlocked) bin file for the T43, but it is on a chinese forum and there seems to be no way to register on it (invitation only). Maybe someone here can download it?
