Good day. Please help me figure this out. I can't defeat this notebook. I've tried a million different combinations. If I understand correctly. I need to break the main BIOS so that the EC is rewritten at the moment of the first turn on. I delete almost all information. It doesn't require a password when logging in. But I can't reset the security settings to factory defaults. Maybe I can somehow delete them from the EC flash drive? Please help me with advice.

Thank you very much for your response. But the problem is still not solved. Moreover, now when loading the system it still hangs on the logo every other time. And the BIOS update does not install.Click image for larger version

Hello to all masters. Help. I can't solve the problem with Intel Smart Sound Technology OED. I flashed the original BIOS back. It doesn't help. I was able to remove the password only by flashing someone else's unlocked BIOS. Then I returned mine back. Maybe someone has encountered and solved this problem. Please advise.

I have a suspicion that someone has already tried to unlock the laptop. I did not immediately check whether this error was there before all the manipulations. I am attaching the BIOS and EC firmware. Maybe someone who knows will see what is wrong?

I've had similar issues on Dell laptops when flashing a different bios, i believe something in the bios is paired to the audio chip. Idk of a fix but you can go to device manager and "update" the driver to the MS audio driver and sound will work, you can also use a group policy to prevent it from updating itself (which it will if you just uninstall it)

Ah yes, this that stupid Audio Calibration data thing on some newer models. You can't edit it via the BIOS menus like the feature byte etc, only that UEFI proprietary tool that HP uses internally where you can calibrate it.

But alternatively you can edit more CMOS string values manually using a USB EFI shell with the "UefiBiosConfig.efi" tool.

If it's similar to va "HP EliteBook 860 16 inch G9 Notebook PC" you can try my personal dumped calibration data for the audio chip. (Hope it doesn't screw it up)

Anyway make a bootable USB EFI Shell, extract the zip into the root of the USB. Navigate to EFI\Boot and copy my dumped cirruscalibrate.txt into there.

Then boot into your USB EFI Shell (might need to turn off secure boot).
Make sure you navigate to the USB drive then go to EFI\Boot

              Code:
              UefiBiosConfig -getconfig=cirruscalibrate.txt
You can also dump your existing config using:
              Code:
              UefiBiosConfig -getconfig=cmosdump.txt
Edit it in notepad or using the edit command, then restore it with:
              Code:
              UefiBiosConfig -setconfig=cmosdump.txt
If the error goes away and the audio fixes itself, then horray!
If you get a red screen of death on reboot about some stupid programming mode, run this:

              Code:
              UefiBiosConfig -setconfig=lockmpm.txt
              Good luck

              Whoops I meant
              Code:
              UefiBiosConfig -setconfig=cirruscalibrate.txt
              like in the screenshot

Couldn't edit the post a 2nd time haha
KippyKip, you're a savior !!! This worked like a CHARM on my EliteBook 865 G9 ) After entering all the data for the BIOS, waited for the count down to get to 1 and accept my information but SURPRIZE ) "Cirrus discrete bla bla error" and was stuck like that for more than two days ( But than i've found this post and everything WORKED GREAT !!! Only one thing, deactivating Secure Boot it's a MUST not a Might. If you can update the zip file with Bootx64.efi would be great for beginners like me would be the BEST. Anyway, whoever get the error about Cirrus Discrete, should use with 100% confidence Kippy's solution . And if anyone know someone from HP that worked on the G9 models and up, please fell free to kick them in the nuts ) I mean, what the hell with all this sh*t??? Up to G8 models this didn't happen !! Once again, KippyKip, a million thanx to you! Take care and keep helping poor fellas !

Worked like a charm. No password and bios is open. Exited MPM with BCU and added the audio calibration.
                        Thank you very much.
